Environmental Climate Testing Requirements for Insulated Enclosures

The purpose of an insulated enclosure is to prevent electric shock caused by leakage. Next, we will briefly discuss some requirements for insulated enclosures when conducting environmental climate tests to help you better understand how to conduct environmental climate tests on insulated enclosures.

Environmental climate testing conditions for insulated enclosures are generally divided into Level 1 and Level 2. Depending on the different manufacturers' stringency requirements for their products, manufacturers can choose the appropriate level to conduct relevant tests on their products.

I. Low Temperature Environment:

Level 1: -45℃, Level 2: -65℃, Test Duration: 16h, Test Standard: GB/T 2423.1-2008;

II. High Temperature Environment:

Level 1: 80℃, Level 2: 90℃, Test Duration: 16h, Test Standard: GB/T 2423.2-2008;

III. Humid Heat Environment:

Level 1: 30℃, 93% Humidity, Level 2: 30℃, 93% Humidity, Test Duration: 96h, Test Standard: GB/T 2423.3-2016;

IV. Temperature Change Rate:

Level 1 and Level 2: -50℃~23℃, Temperature Change Rate: 1℃/min, Number of Cycles: 2, Test Standard: GB/T 2423.22-2012;

V. Condensation Environment:
Level 1 and Level 2: 40℃, humidity 90%~100%, test duration: 96h, test standard: GB/T 2423.4-2008.

After the test, visually inspect the internal parts to determine their compliance. There should be no rust, cracks, or other damage, and no water ingress. Chains, locks, and handles should be in working condition. The tests described above should demonstrate that frost may approach the internal parts, but without causing damage that reduces the protection level.

The above environmental test methods are the climate test requirements for insulated enclosures.
